Who We Are
David and Kim have been involved with CVM nearly half their lives--since an undergrad trip where Kim met a CVM worker by accident (or divine planning). Along with their son Caleb, these three have visited CVM projects and partners around the world while Kim served on the CVM Board of Advisors. Kim graduated from UGA-CVM in 2001 and David from Lincoln Memorial University with degrees in Philosophy and World Religion. After owning a mixed practice in Appalachia for 13 years, the Carneys have been serving with CVM in Bolivia since 2014.
Revive, Affirm, Intercede, Nourish
The Carneys work in Santa Cruz, Bolivia primarily in the veterinary school. They provide courses in Veterinary English, help capacitate students in medical and surgical skills, and offer many social events and Bible studies for students and veterinary professionals. The goal of student ministry is to disciple students and empower them to use their profession to share their faith. The veterinary students are involved in various animal health campaigns and in training and animal care of laying hens in a local orphanage. When he isn’t at the University, David is also involved in various other ministries through cooking, food safety, and service classes as well as on various boards in the local church.
Partnering with VetRed and Universidad Autonoma Gabriel Rene Moreno, the Carneys have opportunity to challenge, empower, and facilitate veterinarians and students to share the gospel through their profession, as CVM does.
