Who We Are
Dr. Heather Heisey got involved with CVM as a student at Colorado State University. She participated in a short-term Shuttle trip to Nepal during her senior year of veterinary school. She also served as a Shuttle to Mongolia. She and her family served in Mongolia for 5 years. They recently returned to the US and Heather is currently living in PA with her husband and three children.
Heather is serving as the Distance Learning Adviser for a Distance Learning Master's Program Mongolian veterinarians in cooperation with the Mongolia State University of Agriculture. This program allows Mongolian veterinarians to study Western veterinary material and gain practical experience in veterinary medicine, leading to a Master’s degree granted by the Mongolia State University of Agriculture. Her work involves tutoring sessions with students in Mongolia via Skype, grading exams and assignments, keeping student records, and connecting students and their Mongolian research advisers with research advisers here in the US.
The Distance Learning Master's Program is a cooperative project between five US universities, the Mongolia State University of Agriculture, and Mongolia V.E.T. Net NGO. Heather serves on the V.E.T. Net Advisory Board in the US.
