Who We Are
Don & Marilyn live in Kimberling City Missouri near the town of Branson in a condo on Table Rock Lake during the summer months. They spend the winter in a retirement community in Lake Wales Florida. Their travels include the annual trip back to Bolivia where Don still is involved with the work in the extremely poor remote region of the country. He & his wife have 4 children, 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Don stays in touch with their work team in Bolivia through e-mail.
Don continues to work with GATHER in a remote area of Bolivia with the indigenous people. The mission owns 20 hectares (50 acres) where research and development of the land is being done to teach the poor families in the area how to utilize their small plots of ground to be able to support and feed their families. The project is presently raising fish, producing eggs, and growing garden products. Through e-mail and SKYPE Don can communicate almost weekly with the Bolivian GATHER team. God continues to bless the work that is being done and many lives have benefited physically and spiritually through their work.
Our partner is GATHER (Gospel, Agriculture, Technology, Health, Education, Resource). Work involves chickens (egg production), cattle, sheep, fish, & honey production as well as bio-intensive gardening & forage production. Families are being trained in workshops at the project site on ways to feed their families healthy food & also produce enough product to sell for a small income. These families have a very small plot of ground. GATHER's work has expanded over the years to include a radio ministry reaching many areas of the country side with the gospel. Their work also involves a CHE program (Community Health Evangelism). CHE involves working in small villages directly with the people to improve their spiritual, nutritional, health & sanitation.
