Curtiss & Shannon Gibbs
Who We Are
Curtiss and Shannon have been married for 15 years after they met at the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). Shannon decided to guard Curtiss during a game of ultimate frisbee, thinking he would be the easiest one to cover- and the rest is history! Curtiss is nearing completion of his Master of Divinity degree, with an emphasis in Children at Risk, from Fuller Theological Seminary. Shannon is using her Masters of Public Health to serve the developing world. They love time with family and friends, being outdoors, and looking for opportunities to travel and serve. They live and work in Seattle.
Curtiss joined Christian Veterinary Mission after 12 years in the local church, where he served primarily in the areas of youth, college, and missions ministry. Shannon works in a sister organization, World Concern, where she is the Asia and Middle East Desk Officer, helping with programs and operations in the countries of that region. Curtiss’s responsibilities as CVM’s Northeast Region Rep are to focus on serving, connecting, and sending veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary students to live out God’s calling on their lives. Curtiss uses his relational gifts to encourage veterinarians to live out their faith in their veterinary clinic. He calls upon his gift of persuasion to send people on short term mission trips. And he plants the seed within countless others that grow into going as long term missionaries. For students, his ministry of service inspires many to create and sustain thriving campus ministry groups, specifically for those on their veterinary college campuses. Curtiss covers 16 states and Washington, D.C., which includes eight college campuses: North Carolina State, Virginia-Maryland, Cornell, Penn, Tufts, Cedarville, Michigan State, and Ohio State.
