I have written four books. The first one, Mission Vets, covers the first 25 years of Christian Veterinary Mission. It tells of how the Lord gave me the idea while attending the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) in Stockholm, Sweden and how that idea has played out in the profession today. It has been through the faithfulness of the many veterinary workers- students, technicians and veterinarians who have traveled to the uttermost parts of the world to make it happen.
The second book, One Summer Day, is about my growing up in the rural South during the depression and ending with the family’s service during World War II. I consider myself fortunate to have grown up during this time frame, probably the most exciting time in the history of man. I am thankful to the Lord for giving me this opportunity.
The third book is titled, Common Sense. The idea came to me at this twilight stage in my life (89) because of the things I have seen and experienced during my lifetime and the change that has come about in society today. Some of it is good and some not so good. Each generation desires to make its own mark. None the less it has been my privilege to go from the horse and buggy days to the space age and beyond. It is probably the most interesting and challenging era in the history of mankind.
My fourth book is devotional in nature. The title is, Be Productive, Bear Fruit For the Kingdom. There are 52 of them (written at age 92). I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did writing them. I got to recall many of my life experiences, the Lord has so graciously provided me with.
We have made tremendous and unheard of technological changes during this time, however human nature has, as far as I can tell remained the same. We remain the same self-centered, sinful people unless God has touched our hearts along the way.
I hope you will let the Lord speak to your heart as you read these books. They are intended to be both comforting and thought provoking.
