Who We Are
Emiko graduated from Washington State University in 2012. During her time as a student, she was involved with the Christian Veterinary Fellowship group as a student leader. She went on 4 short-term mission trips with CVM to Nicaragua and developed a heart for Latin America. She went on to do a small animal internship at Texas A&M to pursue a career in veterinary neurology/neurosurgery. God quickly began to open and close different doors as she explored what it looked like to live faithfully for Him. She decided to leave behind clinical practice when the opportunity to work with Christian Veterinary Missions was presented. Her husband, Josh, and two dogs are enjoying living back in Washington. They love to be outdoors, bike, run, cook, and play music together.
Emiko is serving with CVM as the Northwest Regional Representative. Along with 5 other Region Reps, she will challenge, empower and facilitate veterinary students and veterinarians to share the Gospel in the work place and challenge them to go overseas. Student ministry has always been a passion of Emiko’s and she is excited to walk alongside veterinary students at Washington State, Oregon State and Colorado State through their student years into their professional careers. It is also important to CVM to stay connected and in community with veterinarians as they move into their professional careers and relocate across different states. It will be part of Emiko’s role to connect with local veterinarians to form small groups throughout Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming and to attend professional meetings with CVM in these various states.
